Rap Sessh
Local musicians and sound engineers from the Media Lab at Central Library like to challenge Madison teens to express themselves in a positive manner through lyrics and music.

I gotta get it,
my brothers they riding with me,
Everytime I leave the house,
I make sure God is standing with me.
And I know my momma,
she told me stay up off that block.
Dudes are selling drugs and fighting,
and they started slangin' shots.
I was just tryin' to too,
just so I could reach to the top.
Make sure my momma had food in her fridge,
and shes goin' shop.
Dudes be hatin' on me,
man I swear to God that need to stop.
I be gettin' money when I shop,
I don't look at the cost.

I'm going to prove everybody wrong,
That's the reason that I wrote this song.
That I'm not a menace to society,
I'm a good boy no need for anxiety.
I can change the tone and live in my own home,
To get to the point....
Irritated, cause nobody knows where I am,
Cause I can't tell no one where I'm at.
Cause I can't go home for a week,
I'm stuck here in shelter.
